Active Ingredient

Zinc Undecylenate
Plant-Based Fungus Relief

Most antifungal products contain active ingredients that are synthetic and harsh. Our Free to Be Active Antifungal Balm contains a plant-based form of zinc undecylenate, derived from castor oil. Zinc undecylenate is scientifically documented as an effective treatment for fungal infections such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm.

Inactive Ingredient

Tea Tree Oil
Deep Cleanser

Cleansing and soothing tea tree oil calms the appearance of irritated skin, leaving skin refreshed. A botanical oil extracted from the evergreen leaves of the Australian Melaleuca alternifolia tree, tea tree oil has a deep cleansing effect by breaking down the cells of foreign matter that are attached to the skin and embedded beneath its surface.

Candelilla Wax
Hypoallergenic, Vegan Beeswax Alternative

Plant-based candelilla wax is used in our balm instead of beeswax because some people are allergic to bee products or prefer not to use animal-based ingredients. Our wax comes from the candelilla plant, which typically grows in the Southern United States and Mexico. Candelilla wax improves the appearance of skin by attracting and sealing in moisture without blocking pores.

Alpha Bisabolol
Power Booster

Our alpha bisabolol is derived from the oil of German chamomile. Alpha bisabolol boosts the power of other plant ingredients in our formula to nourish, soothe, cleanse, and refresh skin. It also has a calming effect and helps to smooth skin.

Our Products Are Formulated Without:

PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS:

Tip #1: Perform a Skin Test

Our physician-formulated antifungal balm has undergone a thorough evaluation and utilizes only high-quality ingredients that are 100% plant-based. However, recognize that everyone is unique and could have allergies or uncommon reactions. First, we recommend that you read the label and ingredients list to check for any possible allergies or sensitives you might have to the botanicals and other ingredients before applying to your skin. If do not see anything concerning, we then recommend that you perform the following 2-step skin test:

Step 1 – Test a small amount of balm on the inside of the forearm three inches above the wrist. Considering this is the most sensitive area of skin for testing any topical product, a 30-minute application should be sufficient to determine if there is any allergic reaction. It is very rare (about 1%) that a person may experience an allergic reaction despite it being a plant-rich product.

Step 2 – If no adverse reaction occurs from the test above, test again on a small area of the affected skin before applying the product to a larger area. If you experience an adverse reaction, do NOT continue using the product. Please contact us for an immediate refund.

Tip #2: Cleanse Before Application

Before application of the balm, cleanse the affected area of the skin. We recommend our Free to be Active body wash, which is specifically designed to be used alongside our balm. It is also important to avoid contaminating the product during normal use. Hands should be clean before using the cream. Dry skin thoroughly before applying the balm.

Tip #3: Follow the Suggested Use

Apply a thin layer over the affected area 2-3 times daily or as needed. Our balm is designed to be applied to the body however, it does contain essential oils and should not be used on areas close to the eyes and sensitive areas (mucus membranes). It is suitable for the entire family: men, women, teenagers, and kids ages 2 and older.

Tip #4: Be Consistent

How long does it take to see results? We normally suggest customers try our balm for at least 2-4 weeks to determine its overall effectiveness, but result may vary. In a survey of consumers using our Free to be Active Antifungal Balm, 47% experienced relief from itching in less than one day and another 34% experienced relief in 2 to 4 days. If you do not see any improvement after 2 weeks consult your physician to ensure you have the right diagnosis.

Tip #5: Store Balm Properly

To ensure the maximum durability of the product, please store the balm in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, and with the lid firmly closed.

Tip #6: For Athlete’s Foot

Apply balm in-between toes and pay special attention to spaces between the toes; wear well-fitting, ventilated shoes and change shoes and socks at least once daily. For optimal results, use the balm daily for 4 weeks.

Tip #10: Information on Inner Seal and Texture

Our Free to be Active balm antifungal balm does not come with an inner seal due to its special production process. As one of the manufacturing steps, this delicate balm cools in the jar. This cooling phase may result in the product bubbling, cracking, or shifting with an uneven surface. In rare cases, the balm may come out with a gritty or clumpy texture, which is normal.
